Rennschmiede Pforzheim: Where Passion Meets Precision

Rennschmiede Pforzheim, the Formula Student Team of Pforzheim University, once again participated in international competitions this season with great dedication. With our fourth electric race car, the RSP24 “Jade”, we competed against teams from around the world. Around 80 students from the faculties of Business & Law, Engineering, and Design worked together on this project to bring technical innovations to the track.

This season, we took part in Formula Student Switzerland, Formula Student Czech, and Formula Student Germany. We are especially proud of our outstanding results in Switzerland, where we achieved 3rd place in Endurance and 2nd place in the Efficiency category.

One of this year’s technical highlights was the development of our own Battery Management System (BMS) Master, ensuring the safety of our high-voltage battery, supported by a new battery package. We also redesigned the Driver Interface to improve ergonomics and optimize space usage. Another innovation was the design of signal conversion boards, which transform analog temperature signals into CAN messages. A key step for precise system monitoring.

Thanks to the fast and high-quality PCB deliveries from Eurocircuits, we were able to implement these technical innovations efficiently and successfully compete in the events. The optimized BSPD board (Brake System Plausibility Device) allowed us to reduce the installation space further and make room for additional components.

Our technical progress and performance on the track paid off: at Formula Student Switzerland, we secured 3rd place overall, proving the reliability and performance of our vehicle. Additionally, we won 1st place in the Cost & Manufacturing Event at Formula Student Czech. Achievements like these wouldn’t have been possible without the reliable support of our partners, especially Eurocircuits.
