We are a group of students from the Mechatronics program at UCLouvain. With a passion for cutting-edge technology and a drive to push the boundaries of robotics, we have embarked on an exciting journey to create our very own autonomous robot. Today, we proudly present Team BaBot Au Rhum, and we are thrilled to share our remarkable story with you.

From the beginning, our goal has been to compete in the prestigious Eurobot contest. But before that, we participated in the Robotix’s contest, which serves as the Belgian qualifiers for the European event. Among the 21 teams, one mechatro team secured the 1st position, while we qualified in an impressive 3th place. Nonetheless, we were delighted to receive the distinguished “Creativity” award as well as a place for the Eurobot contest, a testament to our dedication and hard work.

As you can see from the image below, our robot showcases the complexity and sophistication of the task we undertook. Combining our expertise in informatics, mechanics, and electronics, we tackled numerous challenges to bring our vision to life.

One crucial aspect of our project was managing the electronic components, for which we are immensely grateful for Eurocircuits’ support. Allow us to showcase some of the high-quality PCBs we utilised during this endeavour. These intricate circuit boards played a pivotal role in connecting various sensors and actuators to the embedded computer of our robot. We owe a great deal of our success to the reliability and durability of these PCBs.
