ARUS Team – The ART-24

Introduction and goals for the season

During the season 2022/2023, we managed to implement several new features on our car, such as a self-developed 588V accumulator, a new aero package or a display on the dashboard. Those improvements made us perform better on the Formula Student events we attended: Formula Student Netherlands, Formula Student East and Formula Student Germany.

We have already started manufacturing our new car: the ART-24, which is going to be the first driverless car of the team. This is the team’s main goal for this season. It requires lots of interdepartamental work and being able to control several things at the same time.

We also aim to improve the reliability of our car, which means performing more test hours and testing out every single system of the car before attending the Formula Student events. This is a goal we wouldn’t be able to fulfill this season if we hadn’t put all our efforts during the last season designing the ART-24. Promoting this two-year sight has been a major achievement for the team, making us able to test our car months before the competitions.

EuroCircuits Partnership

ARUS PCB making

We would not be able to implement the driverless technology without the help of EuroCircuits. They have been helping us during previous seasons, and their quality boards have helped us achieve the quality we wanted for our designs and systems.

ARUS PCBOne of the system we design is the BMS for our battery, consisting of a master and several slaves. It also features what we call a “sensorization PCB”, which allows a good electrical connection between the busbars and the slaves. This is the first project EuroCircuits have helped us with this season.

It features soldering pads which allow us to connect wires coming from the busbars. These PCBs also include fuses to protect the connections and limit the balancing current. That way, we make sure that our 588V high voltage battery is safe to include in our car and to work with.

We want to thank EuroCircuits for providing us with high-quality boards and helping us make a high performance and reliable EV!
